Optimism ahead…

We call this the Ramp of Opportunity where every worker who walks up this ramp has a chance to better his or her Personal Best in terms of attitude and quality of work.

7-MONTH MILESTONE.

Cariad undergoing restoration safely blocked up and sealed in our super yacht shed. After a 7-month journey we see real progress. Hull ready for re-assembly. More to the point we believe we have significantly reduced risk to Underwriter’s Liability. Major risk phases are behind us.

NEW GARBOARD PLANKS.

New 3” Garboard planks.

SANDING OFF OLD TOPSIDE PAINT.

ROT DISCOVERED UNDER TRANSOM

Caused by lack of ventilation for past 14 years.

New transom planking. The best planking team I have ever seen. They work with skill and co-ordination.

Removing old Oakum caulking form planking seams.

File photos showing massive internal steel cage. Rot caused by lack of ventilation and steaming from Equatorial rain and heat causing freshwater condensation which in turn rotted out the planking in way.

SCAFFOLDING.

The importance and complexity of scaffolding is often underestimated.

RUDDER REBUILD.

Rudder ready to install. Copper sheathing for rudder well.

RE-CAULKING TEAK DECK.

First we clean-out seams - then the Primer.

Then Sika 290 DC

GARDNER 8LXB ENGINE SUCCESESSFULLY TESTED.

Mizzen crane under construction and installed with fibreglass under to waterproof.
