Copper sheathing was removed covering bottom three planks and confirmed bottom three planks need replacing.

After grinding off underbody for better visual access the true damage became apparent. Numerous planking areas throughout eaten away. Planking team commence document and remove rotten planks.

Replace upright haul-out support beams with new adjustable supports – 4 each side.
When completed we were unhappy with the support system. Two additional side supports and two additional under keel supports installed. One further planned support for bow and transom.

5-point plumb-bob system set up to monitor any hull movement during work. Due to the massive steel internal ‘cage’ we consider movement unlikely.

Remove rudder bearings and rudder using forklift and yard crane.
Remove stainless steel sheathing in way of rudder area.

Remove drive shaft and stern tube.
|
Dismantle rear mezzanine workshops to make way for Cariad stern.
Using crane temporary dismantle upright shed support post to make way.
|
Move Cariad sideways into shed.
|
Jack vessel up and transfer support system to underlying cement.
Remove trolley. Set up operations for work including electrics, wood shop, paint shop, and access ramp. Engineering shop at forward end already set up and operating.

Install shed sides onto shed structure.
|
SGS engaged during the Songkran Holiday to tent boat and fumigate.
Fumigation was successful. |
