This Report is issued at week #31 and marks the midpoint in the Cariad1896 Restoration at PSS Shipard, Satun, Thailand.
Up till now it has been 31 weeks of “grunt” work….
A massive dismantling phase.
Repairing and repainting steelwork.
Building and/or repairing masts and booms.
Rebuilding machinery which had been submerged in seawater.
The planking on starboard side is now complete. Waiting on caulkers.
When planking on port side reaches above inside cabin sole level.
Keel bolts will be inspected and tightened and/or replaced.
Then 4 tons of internal lead ballast added.
Tanks next along with piping and pumping installations.
Then we move upwards on interior furniture, equipment and wiring.
